The University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC), Environmental Health and
Safety Office has an immediate opening for a Hazardous Waste Specialist
(HWS).  The HWS will work with the Environmental Programs Manager and
have primary responsibility for managing and furthering the development
of our comprehensive hazardous waste program.  UCSC is uniquely situated
on the Monterey Bay 74 miles south of San Francisco and is part of the
world renowned University of California system. This is an opportunity
to join a small team of talented, motivated EH&S professionals and put
your skills to work making a difference at one of the most prestigious
and beautiful campuses in the country. We are looking for an energetic,
detail and service oriented individual with a positive attitude. The
right candidate will play an important role in supporting the research
and teaching mission of the University and will be a key contributor to
attaining excellence in our environmental programs. This position
