Subject: Gold residue cleaning

We are conducting an accident investigation at a DOE lab. The
activity involved cleaning of laboratory glassware, Buchner funnels,
plated with gold residue by immersing in aqua regia. Does anyone
have an alternate, less hazardous method for removing gold residue
from glassware?
