Description

Duties and Responsibilities:
*Provide professional environmental, health, safety and security
leadership and assistance to the Chicago facilities
*Provide technical/professional support regarding applicable HSE
regulations and issues
*Direct and manage a staff that assists the plant in strategically and
tactically responding to EHS&S requirements; educate line management on
EHS&S responsibilities
*Assure that permits, reports, pollution prevention plans and other
environmental requirements are complete, current, properly implemented
in the operations and that reports are submitted in a timely manner. The
environmental scope includes air and solid waste
*Assure HSE record keeping system provides timely reporting both
internally and to external agencies
*Develop/Implement plans to support the achievement of HSE targets for
safety performance
*Develop/Coordinate the implementation of appropriate Health, Safety,
Industrial Hygiene, Environmental and Process Safety programs including
JSA's and Behavioral Safety
*Perform a gap assessment and supervise a plan for achievement for the
safety elements criteria
*Develop additional HSE and process safety training as needed; assist in
conducting employee training
*Develop, implement and test emergency response plans and keep them
current
*Participate as an auditor in the Corporate HSE audit program upon
request
*Work with the Responsible Care(r) Coordinator for the
McCook/Countryside plants
*Maintain the positive reputation of The Lubrizol Corporation
*Provide feedback to the Safety Steering Committee

Required:
*Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Biology,
Engineering or Science. Occupational Safety & Health or Environmental
major preferred
*Five + years of experience, preferably in a chemical manufacturing
environment
*Familiarity with Illinois and Federal environmental, health, safety and
process safety regulations
*Goal-oriented individual with well-developed communication,
organizational and computer skills
*Must be a self starter who works well independently or in team
environment
*Must be able to work with regulatory representatives and outside
parties in a professional manner

Considered a Plus:
*CSP/CIH/CHMM Certification 
*ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 experience

JOB LEVEL: 55 - 57
SALARY RANGE: $70,000 - $90,000
