Subject: CSHEMA and NACUBO webcast: Completing the Top Screen

From: cheri.hildreth**At_Symbol_Here**louisville.edu Subject: CSHEMA/NACUBO webcast on DHS rule 11/29 Date: November 9, 2007 10:58:39 AM EST All- I am writing to announce that CSHEMA and NACUBO ( National Association of College and University Business Officers) will be airing a webcast on the DHS rule entitled "Completing the Top Screen: Compliance Advice for Universities on the New Chemical Security Rules" on Thursday, November 29th. Details on how to register for the webcast will be posted on the brand new DHS section of the CSHEMA web site at http://www.cshema.org/about/dhs.cfm early next week. What You Will Learn: ● Key provisions of the CFATS rule, and how it is likely to affect universities ● Strategies for collecting information on campus ● Compliance timelines, extensions, and authorities ( C&U are eligible for 60 day extension which would push your Top Screen deadline to mid-March) ● How to narrow your list of chemicals to inventory based on provisions in the rule ● How to fill out the Top Screen instrument ● After the Top Screen: what comes next? I am also attaching a complimentary copy of our inaugural newsletter that was released earlier this week The CSHEMA CONNECTION...linking campus EHS professionals since our cover story is on the DHS rule and the recently released Appendix A list of Chemicals of Concern. Future issues will be a members only benefit. So, if you are not already a member of the new CSHEMA and would like to join our association of campus EHS professionals, here is a link to the CSHEMA membership application http://www.cshema.org/join/membership_application.pdf Sincerely, Cheri Hildreth CHAIR, CSHEMA
