I hate to be dense but I do not think I have ever "tweeted"; so, how do you actually post the tweet that is referenced in the ACS email?

Tweet Your Division to Coffee!

Twitter will be the primary tool for disseminating late-breaking news and announcements during the spring 2012 national meeting. To maximize the effectiveness of this communication tool, we need maximum participation and your support. ACS is hosting a pre-meeting contest on Twitter and will reward Divisions that have successfully encouraged their members to be social media savvy. The Divisions with the most followers added between February 1 & March 9 will win a free coffee break for one day during a technical session (AM or PM) of their choosing during the national meeting in San Diego!

To participate in the competition, each division must encourage their members to follow ACS **At_Symbol_Here**ACSNatlMtg and Tweet the Acronym of Division & exciting chemistry at #acssandiego

Followers will receive up-to-the-minute national meeting information such as:

  • Room changes, session cancellations
  •  Shuttle schedule adjustments
  • Special contests and prizes
  • City attractions & offers
  • Attendee tweets
  • And much more!

Special bonus: All tweets posted during the national meeting using the hashtag #ACSSanDiego will be featured on-site on our twitter wall!

A running tally will be distributed to chairsDivisions will be awarded in three categories: 1) Less than 2000 members; 2) 2000-3499 members and 3) 3500 members and larger.  All members are encouraged to participate even if they are not registered for the meeting.
