The Nuclear Regulatory Agency (NRC) continues to expand its web resources on safety culture. This is very helpful material. See http://www.nrc.gov/about-nrc/regulatory/enforcement/safety-culture.html

Although I personally don’t think the NRC safety culture model fits perfectly in academia, I especially like the new case studies and their accompanying User Guide: http://pbadupws.nrc.gov/docs/ML1119/ML11195A352.pdf

http://pbadupws.nrc.gov/docs/ML1122/ML11228A218.pdf is a case study based on USA 1549
