The Manager leads a team that provides programs and services which evaluate the degree of health hazard exposure risk associated with research operations. The Manager uses a variety of instruments and technical equipment to assess and monitor potential exposures and hazards in the research environment. The Manager recommends specific actions for the elimination or control of the identified hazards, (e.g. protective equipment, confinement systems, ventilation equipment, monitoring equipment, standard operating procedures, etc.)
The Manager will assist the Clemson research community in achieving compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, guidelines and best practices for the prevention of illness and disease from exposures to hazardous materials. S/he will develop, implement and manage customer driven policies, procedures and programs that promote a safe, responsible, healthful and compliant work environmental for all faculty, staff and students.
