The Joint Task Force 136 (Maneuver Enhancement Bridage) out of Round Rock, Texas has three options for Chemical HAZMAT/WMD cross training with National Guard Army Units. 436th Chemical Detachment in Austin, and 436th Chemical Company in Laredo are good bets for decomtamination training. The 6th Civil Support Team in Austin would be for specialized WMD and HAZMAT response. For Active duty Army, Fort Hood, Texas, has the only active Chemical Bridage. It only has one battalion proper on Fort Hood itself, but it focuses more on decon. & tactical chemical reconnaissance. I apologise as I don't have any contact information to the specific units themselves.

Several private-sector vendors ( offer 40-hour HAZWOPER. Have you contacted your state's emergency management agency/department for training ops. I'd also recommend contacting the U.S. EPA Region VI emergency response team.

For WMD, may I suggest reaching out to the US Army or USAF?

Respectfully yours,

I have taken a course at the Emergency Management Institute (EMI) in Virginia and the National Fire Academy is also housed there and has some courses that might be applicable. There is also the bomb course at New Mexico Tech that I have not been to but other colleagues have and highly recommend.

Hi all. Is anyone aware of any WMD or HAZMAT training offered in the United States? I know of the training at Anniston Al and Mercury Nevada through Department of Homeland Security and FEMA. I was just wondering if there were others offered out there, maybe something not offered through a government entity. I currently work on a WMD/HAZMAT team where we utilize a mobile repsonse lab and also have a mass decon. trailor.

Thanks in advance,
