Concordia College, a private liberal arts college in Moorhead, MN, invites applications for the position of Chemical Safety Officer and Stockroom Manager. This is a full-time position that reports to the Director of Risk Management and the Division Chair of Sciences and Mathematics, and collaborates with Science Division faculty and staff. This individual will work closely with departments of chemistry and biology in a newly renovated Integrated Science Center (ISC), opening in August 2017. We expect our already strong science programs to grow with the opening of the ISC and we are eager to find an energetic, organized individual to contribute to our science programs.

As chemical safety officer, this person will maintain the chemical hygiene plan, develop and conduct safety training programs for faculty and students, conduct safety audits, manage chemical waste and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations. As stockroom manager, this individual will oversee ordering, cataloging and storing chemicals as well as other related lab supplies; maintain and update the computerized chemical inventory; hire, train and supervise stockroom student workers; and undertake routine chemical preparation for teaching laboratories. A master‰??s degree in chemistry, industrial hygiene, environmental health & safety, or related sciences preferred. Experience related to the development and management of chemical safety programs may be considered in lieu of the advanced education requirement.
