Thanks.  That seems to be the consensus.  I'm not going to be the person doing this for sure.    I'm a union employee and my work comes under salary, so I have no idea what someone would charge to do this.  


If a member of the public wanted testing for mercury done, what should they look at as a fair cost for bring in a technician to assess the problem?

You want a The Jerome(r) J405 portable mercury vapor analyzer. If you google it, there are plenty of companies that rent it. Good luck,

I was asked for information about the cost of renting or bringing in an IH to test with one of the portable mercury monitors. I'm not familiar with this equipment. It's a rare test for us. If the union has need of Hg monitoring, we just get the employer to hire it done.

If anyone has information on the cost or the best type of monitoring, I'd appreciate it.
