EPA Announces Peer Review of Draft Risk Evaluation for Pigment Violet 29

EPA is holding a public meeting of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) Science Advisory Committee on Chemicals (SACC) from January 29, 2019 to February 1, 2019 to review the draft risk evaluation for Pigment Violet 29 (PV29). The meeting will also include a general TSCA orientation. A portion of this meeting will be closed to public for the committee's discussion of information claimed as confidential business information. Read the Federal Register notice announcing the peer review.

There will be a two-hour preparatory virtual meeting (via teleconference and webcast) on January 8, 2019, from approximately 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for TSCA SACC members and the public to comment on the scope and clarity of the draft charge questions to be used for the peer review. Registration is required for the public to participate during the preparatory virtual meeting. Those requesting to provide oral comments (limited to approximately 5 minutes) during the preparatory virtual meeting are asked to register by 12 p.m. on January 4, 2019. Participants may register by following the instructions provided at

The draft risk evaluation and other supporting documents are available for public comment until January 14, 2019 in docket EPA-HQ-OPPT-2018-0604 on or by contacting the Designated Federal Official listed below. Comments on the scope and clarity of the draft charge questions, also available in docket EPA-HQ-OPPT-2018-0604, should be submitted by January 7, 2019 to be considered during the virtual preparatory meeting.

The SACC, the new Federal Advisory Committee required under TSCA, will provide scientific advice, information, and recommendations to EPA on chemicals regulated under TSCA.

For additional information please contact the Designated Federal Official, Todd Peterson, Ph.D., (peterson.todd**At_Symbol_Here** or 202-564-6428) or visit the TSCA Peer Review website.
