The University of Chicago does offer incoming graduate students the opportunity to use an eye wash during our hands on training portion. At least half of the students do. Of those students that do we hear about how unpleasant it is, even just for 10 seconds. We then tell then to remember this feeling and the likely pain from the initial chemical splash when they have to decide if they are going to put their eye protection on as well as what type of eye protection they reach for. A video cannot convey the discomfort of having tepid (hopefully) water hitting your eyes at 1.5L/minute for 15 minutes.

I have demonstrated the use of safety showers during lab safety trainings using a containment curtain and in the process accidentally demonstrated how wet you can get in the process, but I've never asked a trainee to use the eyewash.

For the purpose you're suggesting, there is a good 2 minute video from the University of California Berkeley at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2O95MzSr1rE
that demonstrates live use of an eyewash and would probably make the same point that a live demo would.
