I have a research laboratory in Angleton Texas and I can confirm to you that your answer about the OSHA answer is correct. .

I believe OSHA‰??s
answer to your question would be the same regardless of
whether your lab falls under the Lab Standard or Industry.
Texas may have a more stringent requirement. So, you may
want to consult with your state office.

SDS's for a Campus

Good Afternoon,
å
Do you have
recommendations for sources of SDS‰??s for an entire
campus (and, if available, pricing information)?å We
have an enrollment of 3914 students, which includes the
basic lab sciences, Engineering, å Nursing, Physical
Therapy, Physician‰??s
Assistant, and Art.
å
Questions that have arisen
as we seek to provide these documents to all employees
include the following.
å
1.å Are paper
copies required in case of being unable to access
electronicå versions?
å
2.å Is there a
time limit, e.g., 60-second rule as to how quickly someone
should be able to access an SDS should an OSHA inspector
ask?
å
å
Current options under
consideration are listed below.
å
1.å Subscribe to
an electronic provider at a recurring rate, so we can access
a global database (examples are
www.sitehawk.com or
www.msdsonline.com)
å
2.å Help
individual work areas develop their own SDS inventories.

å
3.å Create a
central repository of SDS‰??s for the campus.
å
Thank you for your
advice!
å
