Dear Colleagues,

Please join us for this pre-ACS workshop in August and help us spread the word. We welcome graduate students, chemists, engineers, chemical educators, librarians, information specialists and anyone who would like to enhance or facilitate reproducibility of research. Please use http://bit.ly/R-ACS20190824 to pre-register (See details below and PDF linked here). Thank you!

What: Reproducible Data Analysis and Publishing in Chemistry with R
When: Saturday, August 24, 2019, 9am -2pm
Where: San Diego, CA
------------------------------
This workshop will introduce using script-based data analysis and authoring tools to streamline your workå-flow with research data and enhance reproducibility. Through the RStudio Cloud service, we will be using R, a free and open source tool widely used in scientific data analysis, to learn:
‰?¢ Basic data interaction and project management with R
‰?¢ Script-based analysis and visualization of chemistry data sets
‰?¢ Generating a report with integrated data and processing scripts via R Markdown
We will demonstrate that cultivating these best practices enables researchers to improve transparency and reproducibility of their research process. It is a hands-on learning experience for participants and will also provide resources for them to share with their communities of practice.
No previous knowledge of R is required to attend the workshop.

Who Should Attend: graduate students, chemists, engineers, chemical educators, librarians, and information specialists who would like to enhance or facilitate reproducibility of research.
Registration: Cost: $40 per attendee (includes on-site lunch, coffee, tea and soft drinks)
How to register?
Please complete the pre-register form at http://bit.ly/R-ACS20190824 by August 1, 2019.
After completing the pre-registration form, you will be notified when the official registration is available in the ACS National Meeting Registration system.
The early bird registration deadline for ACS National Meeting is June 19. The registration to this workshop is not available in the system yet, but there is no need to delay your conference registration. You will be able to add the workshop once its registration is available in the ACS system.
