Dear CHAS Colleagues,

As I mentioned in my welcome message earlier this month our division's continued success relies on the time, generosity, and expertise of our members. Our programmatic and outreach activities help strengthen and expand our network of safety professionals. At the same we provide a venue for the ACS community and beyond to seek and obtain guidance on a myriad of topics directly from member experts.

Today I write with a simple request to further strengthen our division's programmatic efforts ' volunteer your time and expertise to the Division. Nearly every activity in CHAS is facilitated by a specific committee (meeting programming, membership, awards, etc.) but too often our volunteers find themselves in a committee of one. I'd like this to change in 2022 and we need your help. Now is the time for CHAS members to share their passion for and expertise in chemical health and safety. Volunteer to serve on a committee in 2022. Participation offers members the opportunity to bring innovative ideas that further advance the division's value to its membership. This is a rewarding opportunity for those who give their time and energy to CHAS, and they are rewarded with strengthened leadership skills, professional networking opportunities, and the ability to be an agent of change in CHAS and ACS.

We strive to increase diversity and inclusion across all committees, and to allow all members with the opportunity to share their passion. The only qualification to serve is a willingness to participate and share. Participation is not limited, and volunteers can serve on multiple committees if they choose. A full list of committees and their respective chairs can be found here. If you are interested in volunteering your time please complete this short survey at

that will allow us to best understand your interests and help strengthen CHAS.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Chris
