Re: report from Monona

Many of you have been kind enough to ask how my husband is doing post Covid-19. And I thought I'd report for those who asked, that he is really doing well.

When he was discharged to me after three months in the hospital and rehab, he was on 3 liters of oxygen, incontinent, had a raging UTI, and mental status issue. The infection took many months of antibiotics, that also seemed to clear up the incontinence. He had his 95th birthday in November, and in January 2022, a full year after he tested positive, he was finally completely off oxygen. As proof he doesn't need oxygen, he can go up and down the stairs in our 6-floor walkup wearing an N95. Even I can't do that.

As for his mental status, I'd like to offer the following that happened today: The phone rang and the man on the other end said that we were behind on our Con Ed bill and unless we paid it they were cutting off our gas and electricity. Jack said "Please don't do that, what is it you want me to do?" the man said, "Press 1 and follow the prompts." Then Jack said, "Can I say something first?" The man said "Yes" and Jack said "Go F... yourself" and hung up.

There's nothing wrong upstairs either, my friends.

Monona
