Penn State Environmental Health and Safety is actively recruiting the following positions. Chemical Hygiene Officer: The chemical hygiene officer serve as the technical expert and scientific safety officer for the laboratory chemical hygiene, chemical hazard communications and laboratory chemical exposure assessment programs. Oversees the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) CFATS program. Conducts compliance and risk assessments, and develops and implements policies and procedures. EHS Coordinator to support Penn State Research Institutes: The EHS coordinator team promotes the advancement of the PSU safety culture for customers and acts as the EHS liaison for assigned research groups. EHS Coordinators evaluate chemical, biological and radiological, fire, and general safety hazards as well as hazardous materials shipments and waste management practices; implement effective safe work practices in accordance with established departmental standards.
