Neal and Frankie--

You folks are awesome! Even having it posted online several weeks later would be great.

CHAS gives its members excellent value, keep up the good work/fight/whatever!

All:

CHAS and ACS can produce the sessions as a live webinar. The cost to CHAS has been quite high so we tend not to. However, we WILL ASK ACS to record the session so it will be posted online within two weeks of the end of the meeting. In addition, if the cost has been reduced, CHAS will stream it live.

We also will post all of the PPTs on our website =96 dchas.org, as we do now.

I assure you that we will do everything possible to provide our members with a rich information base.

Neal

Any chance this could be made into a webinar/simulcast so it could be held at the meeting but viewed remotely if one registered for it? I have two children and travel that far away is just not something that's going to happen--but I would love to 'attend' even on a Saturday.....

Thanks for considering this--

Margaret

In addition to the Symposium Frankie and Tim are organizing, CHAS is considering a =BD day workshop, on the Saturday prior to the meeting =96 23 March.

If you were to attend the conference, would you consider also attending this workshop? This is not a commitment on your part, rather I am trying to estimate the interest among our members

Description:

Strategies for Hazard Communication in the Laboratory =96 Academic and Industrial

This is a half day workshop to provide those responsible for the implementation of Hazard Communication in their work environment with information related to recent changes in OHSA's Hazard Communication Standard. These recent changes, March 26, 2012, adopted several aspects related to global harmonization of precautionary warnings. The revised standard includes: revised criteria for classification of chemical hazards, new labeling provisions, a specified format for safety data sheets, revisions to definitions, and new training requirements. The new labeling and data sheets require the use of standardized signal words, pictograms, hazard statements and precautionary statements. The workshop will focus on the changes and requirements of the new rule as well as provide tips and tools for the implementation of the new requirements. The workshop is designed for the practioner that is responsible for translating the standard to individuals that work in teaching, research or industrial laboratories.

Please reply to the list as a whole =96

Thanks

Neal
