Hi Rob,

We use PS-7s from DOD for combustibles monitoring. They have ethanol-specific sensors, both LEL and more sensitive ppm. Though keep in mind there will be cross-sensitivities to other combustible gases.

Subject: [DCHAS-L] Ethanol sensor?

I have a colleague who does building alarm/detection/security systems and they are outfitting a new distillery warehouse.

Their customer’s older warehouse has a VESDA system that uses an ethanol sensor made by Xtralis, but Xtralis has apparently discontinued that sensor.

Does anyone know of any source for an ethanol-specific sensor for continuous air monitoring?

Thanks,

Rob Toreki
