Several thoughts regarding the picture: 1. The students ARE wearing personal protective equipment!!! It was not that long ago that students and professionals were often depicted in photo ops. without adequate ppe and/or without eye protection. 2. If the mentors sof the students are working to instill a culture of safety, hopefully that culture will stay with the students in other activities. 3. This may not be a case of overkill with the ppe vs. activity. This may be a case of "cool factor." 4. If these students contine through their science education with teachers and mentors that value safety, the safety lessons will hopefully contine through and beyond college. William C.
