I was reviewing the new safety video from UCSD “A Day in the Lab” to see if it is appropriate for our safety meeting. I noticed that all of the female casts have long hair and not tied up on top . In lieu of the tragic accident at Yale University, this basic safety rule must be revisited, reinforced and implemented. Like other basic safety rul es (i.e., no eating , drinking, smoking, no open toe shoes, no shorts, etc. ) this one should be in the core of Lab Safety Rules. All female worker wit h long hair MUST tie up their hair on top.
