CSHEMA announces final keynote for annual conference

The CSHEMA Conference Planning Committee is proud to announ ce the closing keynote presentation for the CSHEMA 2011 annual conference. Laboratory Saf ety: Learning from Others' Accidents to Prevent Your Own, a keynote pan el, will take place on Wednesday, July 20.

Items to be addressed during this panel include:

• Recent changes in safety culture as a result of the 2010 labor atory explosion at Texas Tech and the 2008 laboratory fire at UCLA
• The successes and challenges in changing the safety culture fr om the perspective of EHS and chemistry department heads< /li>
• The role of the Chemical Safety Board, its investigations of t hese accidents, and preliminary findings concerning its investigation of th e Texas Tech University accident and academic laboratory safety in general
