CSHEMA announces final keynote for annual co nference

The CSHEMA Conference Planning Committee is proud to announce the closing keynote presentation for the CSHEMA 2011 annual conference. Laboratory Safety: Learning from Others' Accidents to Prevent Your Own , a keynote panel, will take place on Wednesday, July 20. < /o:p>

Items to be addressed during this panel include:

• Recent changes in safety culture a s a result of the 2010 laboratory explosion at Texas Tech and the 2008 labo ratory fire at UCLA
• < span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif"'>The succ esses and challenges in changing the safety culture from the perspective of EHS and chemistry department heads
• The role of the Chemical Safety Board, its investigations of these accidents, and preliminary findings concerning its investigation of the Tex as Tech University accident and academic laboratory safety in general
