I'm not sure why Wednesday's digest was not distributed, but I've included all headlines since Monday, broken into two postings for increased digestability...

IRE fighters are tackling a chemical spill that has caused huge traffic delays this morning.

The drum was also letting off fumes.

About 1000 litres of dangerous chemicals spilt when a fire in a Christchurch warehouse broke out and melted the containers they were stored in.
The Fire Service says the fire started at about 8pm on Monday in the Daily Freight warehouse on McAlpine Street in the suburb of Sockburn.
It was brought under control within three hours but a cordon remains in place because further chemical clean-up work has to be done.
The spilt chemicals include boron and others used in wood processing.
About ten firefighters and a hazardous materials unit will return to the warehouse to deal with the chemicals on Tuesday morning.

Four people were taken to the hospital Sunday night after high carbon monoxide levels were reported in their Englewood home.

The 52-year-old woman, 22-year-old man and two children were taken to Holy Cross Hospital in fair-to-serious conditions, according to Fire Media Affairs.

A Level 1 Hazmat team was called to the 7100 block of South Winchester Avenue at 11:35 p.m., Fire Media Affairs reported, because of high carbon monoxide levels.

Carbon monoxide levels of 1,000 parts-per-million were recorded inside the home, about 20 times the recommended limit, a spokesman told the Chicago Tribune.

A generator was operating in the basement, and the residents did not have electricity, said Fire Media Affairs.

CLOVER --
Two teens were arrested Sunday after they allegedly threw a homemade explosive device at a Clover house.
Joshua Archer Denning and Evan Wyman Wallace, both 17 and of Marietta, Ga., have been charged with three counts each of causing an explosion that damaged a building. Wallace is also charged with possession of drugs.
Each is being held in Moss Justice Center on $5,000 bond.

On Sunday, a resident of Quinn Road in Clover reported an object they described as a bottle being thrown from a car at the home, which then exploded, according to a Clover Police report. A car was leaving the neighborhood as officers arrived, and the caller waved police toward the fleeing car.
