I noticed that our 2014 Chair Elect, Debbie Decker from UC Davis is quoted in the "Quotes and Photos of the Year" of the C&EN 2013 year end review issue:
"Just wrapping people up in a lab coat and gloves doesn't automatically make them safe."
A good thought for 2014 as well!
