Title: HES (Health Environment Safety) Manager

Location: Katy, TX

Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities included but are not limited to:

=B7 Plan, implement, coordinate and assess accident, fire prevention, and occupational safety and health programs, utilizing knowledge of industrial safety-related engineering discipline and operating regulations.

=B7 Conducts risk assessment analysis of plant and labs

=B7 Develops and recommends new procedures and approaches to safety and loss prevention (SOP standard operating procedures) based on reports of incidents, accidents, and other data gathered from personnel.

=B7 Creates written safety plan based on SOPs.

=B7 MSDS -> SDS -> GHS system updates.

=B7 Disseminates information to department heads and others regarding toxic substances, hazards, carcinogens, and other safety information.

=B7 Assists department heads and administrators in enforcing safety regulations and codes.

=B7 Measures and evaluates effectiveness of safety program, using established goals.

=B7 Conducts building and grounds surveys on periodic and regular basis to detect code violations, hazards, and incorrect work practices and procedures.

=B7 Develops and reviews safety training for staff.

=B7 Documents and conducts investigations into on-the-job accidents.

Basic Qualifications:

=B7 Bachelor =B4s Degree in Safety Management, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Basic or Applied Science, Environmental Science, or any other related subject.

=B7 7+ years of environmental, health and safety experience in the chemicals or oil and gas industry.

=B7 Must be OSHA 10 and 30 hour trained

=B7 Must be CPR/ first aid trained

=B7 Have experience implementing the new GHS system

=B7 Must have confined space certification

=B7 Must have waste containment experience

=B7 Must have a working knowledge of EPA guidelines for chemical or oil/gas industry

=B7 Must have experience training on safety regulations
