Subject: [DCHAS-L] EPA Seminar at Northeastern in Boston on 1/31/17

Demystify:

Recently EPA HQ contacted the C2E2 about hosting a meeting for colleges and universities on the revised Hazardous Waste Generator Rule. The program will be held on January 31, 2017 at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. EPA representatives will provide detailed information on the revision and allow ample time for discussion and questions. It is anticipated to be at least a 1/2 a day program.

Details on logistics to be announced within the next few weeks.

From Jim O'Leary with EPA HQ:

The US EPA recently issued the Hazardous Waste Generator Improvements Final Rule incorporating over 60 changes to the hazardous waste generator regulatory program. These changes affect practically every component of the Generator program, and therefore may affect the way colleges and universities identify and manage the hazardous waste they generate.
