Demystify:

One of the Committee on Chemical Safety's activities at last week's ACS national meeting was a focus group to help ACS web staff identify key design principles for organizing safety information on the ACS web site. The current version at http://www.acs.org/safety contains a lot of information, but we are seeking to optimize its organization for various audiences to make it a valuable resource for chemists and the public alike.

At least week's focus group, we had a good collection of assorted stakeholders, including graduate students, EHS staff, and chemistry librarians. However, due to the press of national meeting business, we were unable to recruit as many chemistry faculty as we would like to gather input from. So we are looking for 3 to 5 faculty members from diverse institutions who would be willing to spend about 30 minutes on the phone with the ACS web team to answer questions about what safety information they look for from the ACS web site and how it would be best organized for their use.

If you are willing to participate in this effort, let me know and I'll share your contact information with the team conducting these interviews.

Let me know if you have any questions about this.
