If you dive DEEP into toxnet, I found the following.
Sounds like it could be an issue under certain conditions, and definitely avoid HCl.
The most serious hazard I'm aware of is eye hazards (nasty in the eyes).
As a side note, off-spec disposal (and containers) is a P listed RCRA waste (P087).

Hazardous Reactivities & Incompatibilities:
Contact with hydrochloric acid will cause formation of poisonous chlorine gas. Contact with easily oxidized organic materials may cause fires and explosions.

Hello
I'm currently working on Chemical SOPs.
While working on Osmium Tetroxide I've been looking at other SOP's from other Colleges/Universities and many say it is a strong oxidizer. Which makes sense but when you look at the SDS sheets and in particular the GHS for this chemical;
oxidizer isn't listed as a hazard. I'm looking at it in a solution and by itself (100%) and still no oxidizer warning.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
