For anyone interested in working in the greater Boston area, this is a great position for someone with 1-3 years of experience.
This position will manage EHS programs in support of the College's academic and business objectives. Occupational health and safety laws, environmental federal and state regulations and good practices will be reflected in program management and in providing technical advice to the College community. Program areas are hazardous waste management, hazardous materials in building materials, construction safety, and emergency response. Will keep abreast of pertinent EHS regulations, developments and best practices.
Primary Position Responsibilities
Oversee the management of and proper disposal of hazardous waste/materials on campus.
Manage construction safety working with Project Managers and contractors on construction/renovation projects relative to OSHA construction standards and other applicable rules and regulations. Includes some OSHA general industry standards (confined space, lockout/tagout, electrical). Will conduct safety and hazmat inspections. Follow-up with reports and corrective action as needed.
Respond to incidents on campus, to include emergency response to hazmat releases and indoor air quality concerns. Will work to bring incidents to a successful conclusion. Manage spill kits and related equipment.
Coordinate and provide training to the College community.
Other duties as assigned.
