Demystify:

Ditto TOXNET. When I was in industry, we had a DABT-certified toxicologist who reviewed our raw materials every two years for target organ effects (and those went on our MSDS's--which I found to be much more informative than the mishmash of prescribed phrases now, IMHO). She told me about TOXNET and that is where I go for tox info...

RTECS is often cited but my understanding is that 'original' data can be very, very difficult to actually find; it was not necessarily peer-reviewed; and now apparently you need a subscription to view it (CDC sells RTECS DB)

So I stick w/Toxnet...
good luck-

Subject: [DCHAS-L] LD50 Source Data

Does anyone know where to find the studies/source data for LD50 values listed in SDSs? I'm specifically looking for studies/data on the reproductive/developmental hazards of methylene chloride and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (CAS # 872-50-4). Is there a database somewhere or does each manufacturer keep its source data in-house?

Thanks!
