Demystify:
All - I would like to let you know that there will be a APPA is
sponsoring a Town Hall tomorrow to discuss the status of either
reaffirmation or revision of ANSI/ISEA Z-358.1 (American National
Standard for Emergency Eyewash and Shower Equipment). APPA
- Leadersip in Educational Facilities is a global "leader in
professional development programs, credentialing, research,
publications, networking, and information services for the
educational facilities profession."
In December 2016, CHAS sent Mary Beth Koza and myself to the ISEA
meeting in Alexandria, VA to represent the membership and present
some ideas/concerns for them to consider in the 2019 revision. At
this time, it appears that ISEA is prepared to make a decision to
reccommend that the standard be reaffirmed as is rather than
updating it to include any of the concerns which were brought to
their attention in 2016. APPA is concerned about reaffirmation of
the standard without considering updates based on some of the valid
concerns that were brought before them in 2016.
The webinar tomorrow, Friday, March 13th from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm
EDT, we will present an overview of the issues at hand and go over
the concerns that we outlined to ISEA at the December 2016 meeting.

Let me know if you have any questions about this,

We, the willing, led
by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the
ungrateful. We have done so much, for so long, with so
little, we are now qualified to do everything with
nothing. Teresa
