I can help to define specific hazard categories to capture these incidents. Please note that defining a material as pyrophoric has serious implications under the Fire Code as well as how it is handled. This may also leave the uninformed the impression that they are dealing with a pyrophoric rather than a reactive material with very different PPE and procedure

I am really confused- since when is diethyl ether pyrophoric? And I could go on.
With all due respect, the CHAS list server supports solid chemistry. Please, whoever put this together, go back and edit it for factual correctness. If you need help sorting this list, there are many of us who will chip in.
I look forward to seeing consolidated data such as this presented in a meaningful manner.
