Under direction, the position organizes, develops, and implements District-wide programs in the area of environmental health and safety. The position is responsible for ensuring employee safety, reducing the potential of injury, illness prevention, and facilities compliance. The position ensures compliance to standards and regulations required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal/OSHA), the Southern California Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), and the California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal/EPA). The position is also responsible for developing and coordinating a process for the removal of hazardous materials generated by faculty and staff.
