Demystify: 

I think we need an FAA definition of "general aviation" and some numbers to get an idea of the magnitude of this problem.  I assume somewhere it is on the FAA site, but I'm slammed.  Does anyone know off hand?

Apparently, general jet and propellor planes use Jet A fuel (similar to kerosene) which does not contain leads. But the private planes have a variety of engines many of them use avgas which contain a lead additive.
