Hi Jim,

I do not know anything about the experiment conducted but have worked with an O2 and H2 electrode in the past. First off, a glove box is a closed box with a static -in the below case- N2 atmosphere and not a constant flow of N2. Second, calibration of electrodes is done by bubbling H2 and O2 into the liquid of the electrode's chamber. The chamber is open at this time and as a result, H2 and O2 would accumulate in the glove box. I am unsure how they added the H2 and O2. It is also not clear whether the glove box contained a platinum catalyst to generate H2O from the two gasses.

My best,

Imke
