First - I am going to say I am not commenting on the incident that triggered this line of discussion. But, I do want to suggest that this may be something someone would like to review. It is my recollection that we have seen glove box incidents resulting from experimentation with Hydrogen and Oxygen periodically over the years. I seem to recall when I was doing work (looking at the overpotential at the cathode during the generation of hydrogen in the early 1980's) there were several such incidents. Similarly, during the experimentation during the Cold Fusion period in the early 1990's there were several more, etc. Thus, this is a known hazard, and there have been many reported and unreported incidents associated with glove boxes while doing experiments in this area. However, I do not recall that anyone has done a review paper or has compiled these incidents. It might be something to dig into further as seems to cyclic pattern to it, or a generational one.
