ok, that sounds like "mission possible." Maybe I missed it, but where is the monitoring of the effluent to be certain the steel wool is doing its job well enough to meet the local discharge limits? And remember, those limits vary greatly depending on your local rules.
In my world of alternate photo processes, also watch out for other chemicals getting into that bucket that influence the silver deposition.

Hi, all,
Here is how things turned out.
In addition, I did check for a precious metal reclaimer in my area, and was very fortunate to find one, Sigma Precious Metals. And also very fortunate that the company owner could come by right away to assess what we had since we were under some tight deadlines. Plus he was also able to offer a bit more money from some precious metal reagents we were also surplusing.
So crisis averted!
Thanks so much for everyone's help,

Hi,
I am in need of some input from those experienced with the Super Saver Steel Wool Bucket (Cat#: SSWB-5-SS), which is also identified as as Steel Wool Silver Recovey Bucket and often also identified with recovering silver from film development processes.
In particular we need to dispose of two of these buckets, since our contractor does not process them for the silver recovery service. To do that I need to know what the contents of the bucket were before they were put in use and what the likely contents could be after they've been used in silver recovery for film developing.
Thanks in advance for any input you can give us,
