CSB - U.S. CHEMICAL SAFETY BOARD -- An independent federal agency investigating chemical accidents to protect workers, the public, and the environment

Statement from CSB Board Member Steve Owens on Senate Confirmations

Begin Statement

December 14, 2022

I am honored that last night the U.S. Senate unanimously voted to confirm me to be  Chairman of the Chemical Safety Board, and I am grateful to President Biden for nominating me for this important position.

Additionally, I am very pleased that the Senate last night also unanimously confirmed Catherine Sandoval as a CSB Board Member.

Board Member Sylvia Johnson and I welcome Cathy Sandoval to the CSB, and we look forward to working with her as we work to rebuild and revitalize the CSB.  She will bring a wealth of experience and an important perspective to the CSB.

End Statement
