Demystify:

A question, please. Since this cabinet must, by regulation, be free of pathogens and hazardous materials, and since moving parts, if any, must be secured, why is a “special moving company” needed? If the device weighs more than a large refrigerator, it should be easily handled by any rigger. If less, then any moving company can handle. If your concern is the lab from which it is removed or into which it is located, all hazards can be easily mitigated.

Please clarify the need for the specialized service.

Thx

TSS might be able to help.

They have offices in SoCal.  I'm just unsure if they'll move it for you.  They may have advice for someone who can.

Hello DCHAS folks!

We got a request for info on any moving/rigging companies in southern California that are able to move a  class 2 biosafety cabinet (BSC).  We don't have any other details (e.g., where in SoCal, how far of a move, model/size of BSC, etc.).

Do any of you have any recommendations of companies you've perhaps worked with?

Thanks!

Jon
