Demystify:
An associate reported an evacuation on the U of Delaware campus (Newark, DE) today. The campus was alerted via messaging that multiple buildings were closed and evacuated: “...EHS is continuing to handle a safety related incident. Follow instructions…”

After reading that, a toxic gas leak seemed likely, but with five building evacuated including two lab buildings I texting back “TATP” and a link to this article: https://www.chemistryworld.com/news/investigation-reveals-missteps-by-student-who-unwittingly-made-explosive-/2500470.article

Just got another text: "You called it, somebody accidentally made 20 g of TATP”

The media has yet to catch up on it being TATP: https://www.delawareonline.com/story/news/local/2023/02/08/university-of-delaware-buildings-emergency-evacuation-lab-safety-incident/69885930007/

So there are lessons learned and those that are kinda learned.  Hopefully they caught it before anyone was injured.

PS: Today I read in the Philadelphia Inquirer the vinyl chloride is “odorless sweet-smelling substance”…  If an odor falls in a forest, does anyone smell it?
