Hello everyone,

How are other groups evaluating the safety requirements for the use of novel compounds in animal research? Our primary concern is that researchers are conducting animal studies with compounds that do not have safety data. Thus, the toxicity of the compound and/or its metabolites are unknown, and it unclear what is required to safely work with the treated animals and what to do if someone is exposed.

Does anyone have access to relevant expertise to assist with developing a policy for the safe use of novel compounds in animal research?

Any info or help is much appreciated!

Thank you,

Steve
