Well, my dear pals,
It’s that time of year again. We’re registering people for the 8th annual, 40-hour Art and Theater Safety course I teach every year through the University of Delaware’s Art Conservation Department. This year it is scheduled for July 31 to August 4.
I’m appealing for your help. If any of you are on mail groups or lists that can help us get the word out, I’ll send you the details and a flyer that you can post.
Or if you personally know professional safety people or young graduates who might have an interest in applying their chemistry skills to the odd and challenging safety issues in the arts and entertainment fields, please put them in touch with me. I’ll send them information about our curriculum and requirements.
This is probably the last year that I will be doing almost all the teaching. We’ve been grooming people to cover parts of the curriculum so there will be a seamless transition when I can no longer do it. But currently, it is still fun for me. And I’m just about fully recovered from a very successful heart surgery that has put bounce back in the old broad.
Oh, did I mention that we usually have a pretty good time.
