In 1998, HHS, the OSHA Directorate of Technical Support, the CDC and NIOSH published a document :
Selecting, Evaluating, and Using Sharps Disposal Containers
https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/docs/97-111/pdfs/97-111.pdf
The document states :
"Standing eye level includes a 1-inch shoe heel thickness and a 56.3-inch eye height. Seated eye level includes a 0.25-inch clothing thickness, 1-inch chair seat thickness, 14.9-inch popliteal height, and a 27.4-inch erect sitting eye height."

There are some standards that use the term "eye level" - any one have a reference as to what that would mean from a practical standpoint? Most of us have a particular idea - but I am looking for a reference. And, would think this may have come up in an FAQ.
