Dear CHAS Members:

I am sending this request on behalf of Laura Howes, Chemical and Engineering News Sr. Editor.

Laura and I talked that the safety communities might want to emphasize safety and  innovative safety solutions in their labs. Laura is asking for help is helping to communicate this request. Thanks a million for helping us with it. Marta

C&EN, the magazine of the American Chemical Society, wants to showcase the diversity of chemistry labs across the world in an article this fall. We’d love it if you, or someone in your lab, would like to contribute by sharing photos of what makes your laboratory unique or special to you at https://cenm.ag/showyourlab by September 5th. We want to see how labs differ across the globe, as well as what unites them. Please let us know if you’d like to contribute and show the readers of C&EN where you work.

If you’d like to participate, here are some quick tips:

  • If your photo includes people in the lab, make sure that they follow the best safety practices
  • Including people, or everyday objects, can give a sense of scale;
  • Grain structure is for materials, please send us images in as high a resolution as possible;
  • Make sure you tell us who you are, and what makes this lab special to you.
  • Explain to us what your photo shows and why it’s important to your lab

By submitting these images, you consent to C&EN using them and your accompanying text in subsequent articles and social media posts. The information will be used by C&EN in the creation of articles and social media posts. Your contact details will not be made public, but we may contact you for follow-up questions or fact-checking.
