You have to assume e of caution).
some amount of chemical was exposed in drums (abundance of caution)
If you segregated chemicals into specific holding drums, you could clean and sanitize, test for any chemical presence.
But should verify with DOT, Haz-Mat, Fire Dept or some other local authority.

I am trying to find out if I can throw out the barrels that were used to hold chemicals after a fire. They were packed in vermiculite and all bottles were closed. We didn't see leakage when we put everything back. How can the empty barrels be disposed of?
