More messages about Ralph Stuart:

PLEASE NOTE: You may also share thoughts and condolences on the DCHAS website at https://dchas.org/2023/12/11/in-memorium-ralph-b-stuart-iii/

From Dominick Cassadonte:

Ralph was a wonderfully kind man whose heart was in protecting chemists and keeping them safe and teaching others to be safety practitioners. We worked together on several committees. His insights were always spot on. He will be sorely missed!

From Bruce Van Scoy:

I am so sorry to hear of Ralphs passing.  He was a strong leader in chemical safety.  He had a tremendous impact on the impact of safety and the culture required to implement safety effectively for not only those of you in educational facilities, but for those of us in industry as well.  Ralph broke new ground, provided means of communications and lessons learned that I really think those under 60 will not know how far we have come from where we were.  I hope his legacy is continued by someone who can raise to the level he established.  He showed the necessity of chemical safety and its impacts.

What a legacy – well done Ralph!  You will be missed, but not forgotten and Thank You for all that you accomplished.

From Doug Cody:

The DCHAS and all safety folks should remember Ralph's undying passion for EHS and his unselfish demeanor. Ralph gave so much to our profession. I always looked forward to seeing his next post to learn something new about our safety world.

May Ralph rest in peace.

From Dr. Ruth Ann Murphy:

Thank you for the update. Is an annual award (plaque, scholarship, etc.) to a high achiever in chemical lab safety being considered to provide a lasting recognition of Ralph’s considerable contributions to Chemical Lab Safety and Education? This seems more than fitting to me – it seems necessary. [Here with current interest rates, perpetual scholarships start at $25k.]

From Celina Ogah:

I feel sad! My condolences to his family.

When he wrote here some time back that he had health issues, I didn't imagine

this will happen so soon. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
