Dear CHAS members and other DCHAS-L list recipients—

CHAS and the ACS Division of Organic Chemistry (DOC) are planning a series of talks at the intersection between chemical health & safety and organic chemistry (a very loosely defined interface), and we are looking for speakers and venues.

The idea behind this lecture series is to promote the connections between our fields and to get Annual Meeting-quality talks out to institutions that don’t tend to come to ACS Annual Meetings: 2-year colleges, primarily undergraduate institutions, historically black colleges and universities, etc. Talks will be on-site, but we plan to record them and simulcast them on Zoom or similar so that other similar institutions can get the content easily.

Travel funds for speakers have been obtained from ACS via an Innovative Programming Grant. Timing is flexible, sometime in the next two years.

If you have an idea for a talk at the interface between CHAS and DOC, even if you don’t feel you’re the one to deliver it, please contact me at dkuespert**At_Symbol_Here**pm.me.

If you work (or have a good professional contact) at an institution you think might make a great venue for a talk, again, please contact me!

Thanks in advance for helping make this joint CHAS-DOC effort a success!

Regards,
Dan Kuespert
