Hello, CHAS!
CHAS, in cooperation with the Committee on Ethics and the Division of Professional Relations, is sponsoring a session at the ACS Fall 2024 Denver Annual Meeting on the topic of safety and ethics. We could REALLY use some presentation proposals, as the deadline (April 1) is fast approaching. Here’s the description of the session:
Research ethics & safety ethics: Linking laboratory practices to the core values of the society
This symposium will examine the role of professional ethics in chemical health & safety. Papers are solicited addressing what constitutes ethical behavior in laboratory; how we determine what is ethical in a lab; and how laboratory practices and experiences intersect, reinforce, and conflict with ethical behavior.
As you can see, there’s plenty of room for different presentation ideas in that abstract—perhaps room for your idea? Submit abstracts through the ACS website (click on the page for the Fall meeting and look for the submission link). If you’ve got an idea and you’re not sure it’s suitable, send it to me directly; I’ll be glad to look it over and discuss it with you.
Regards,
Dan Kuespert, co-organizer
