Hi,
I don't know what keywords Ralph used in the Google News alert that he set up, but I do have a list of keywords that Ralph Stuart and Thomas Vickery from Merck compiled for a Purdue datamining class that we were working with in 2022 as part of a Chemical
Safety Libraryproject. Ralph created a list of lab safety keywords and Thomas created a list of hazard keywords for use in the Reactivity Profile field of CAMEO Chemicals. No truncation (or wild card characters) was used so variants of terms are on the
list (e.g., singular and plural). Google does support truncation. The merged list of both sets of keywords is 150 terms long. It would need to be reviewed and not all terms might be useful for a Google News headline search, but it would be a good start.
I have the lists saved in a spreadsheet. Would want to get permission before sharing broadly (if there is interest in seeing it), but could share with CHAS/Jim if they are setting up a news alert feed.

Does anyone have the keywords that Ralph used? We could attempt to recreate it using Google News.
Thanks, Rob. When I saw this I thought that it had been a while since I had seen any demo incidents, then quickly realized that it was because we no longer get Ralph's headline searches. I really appreciated those, too.
I just updated our demo safety page with this latest incident. I also found a couple others while looking for more info. I added one from Malvern, IA from 2023 and another from Hendersonville, TN from 2018:
http://www.ilpi.com/safety/demosafety.html I
found another two, but they were completely paywalled with no info available.
I suspect we are probably missing contemporary ones between the world of paywalls and because we don’t have Ralph Stuart’s chemical incident headline service keeping watch for them. If anyone finds additional recent incidents to add to that list, let
me know.
Best wishes,
Rob Toreki
